Prof. Dr. Zahari Zahariev, President of the“Slaviani” Foundation since 1990, is a prominent Bulgarian academic, political and public figure. Lecturer at many universities in Bulgaria and abroad, he also has significant contributions in international humanitarian and cultural exchange. Active in the civil sphere, he is initiator, founder and member of numerous national and supranational NGOs, participant in various international forums. For his contribution to international peace, cooperation and mutual understanding, he is awarded with many governmental and state prizes and NGO distinctions, in Bulgaria, as well as in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries of CIS, Georgia, Poland, Palestine, Germany, etc.
